New Delhi, Feb 9: WhatsApp has over 1.5 billion monthly active users, who exchange 60 billion messages on a single day.
WhatsApp currently has over 200 million monthly active users in India and for them, the company has launched a new payment feature that will allow users send money to other WhatsApp users. excluding merchants accounts. The company has been planning this service from long back and currently in Beta mode and will be available to the public later on.
This feature is available live in Beta mode with support of many Indian banks displayed in the WhatsApp user interface.
To use this payment feature, Beta users must configure the feature by first verifying their mobile number via SMS and selecting bank then they get an option to send a payment in the main WhatsApp interface.

With 200 million monthly active users, India is WhatsApp's largest market which gives more reasons to the company to announce the feature to the public soon.
